After graduating from the University of Calgary in 2013 with a Bachelor's degree in Social & Cultural Anthropology, I began working in industries ranging from Oil & Gas in Alberta, Canada to non-profit NGOs in West Africa. Moving across borders and industries, I continuously found myself at the intersection of human lifeways and digital technology.

 

In 2015, I joined digital marketing and advertising agency Are You Social Corp with the mission to help businesses build a solid brand and connect with the people who support them.

As a social scientist by training, I use ethnographic research methods to document and decipher how and why people use social media to develop digital kinship and build brand communities. In collaboration with the brand, I use these insights to create unique content, implement effective social media marketing management practices, and execute impactful advertising campaigns.

 

From small businesses and nonprofits in my hometown of Red Deer, Alberta to large festivals in the United States, Europe, and beyond, this innovative, data-driven approach has helped diverse brands achieve marketing objectives, deliver valuable social media experiences, and develop more meaningful connections with their target customers and brand evangelists.
